Peer Pressure

Its not somethin u read about in books
Its bigger meaner and a lot worser than it looks

You often don't recogonize
The simplest forms of this
cause the pressure's almost always disguised.

"Go on. Take a smoke"
Thats not peer pressure
We're not dumb enough to dope

"Cancel plans with your mom
Go with us instead"
A Seemingly insignificant sentence.
But darlings, thats peer pressure

'Talk to her or hang out with us'
We're given the choice
we still don't know who to trust

Friends or family?
The decision's impossible.
But thats what we're expected to make.
Now tell me
Why are we quiet about this
Almost making it seem like its acceptable

"Forget that look,
you look bad.
Don't bother us with your poems
They're always about when you feel sad"

That may not be sentences from our friends
But its pressure anyway
Cause our talents are supprsesed
Our dreams are pulled away

My Papa.

Dont care if i sound like a 5 yr old...but this is to the man whos stronger than the world's strongest man and the man whos taller than the world's tallest-My papa.

My Papa is my best friend...I love him so much.

When i need a hug without a reason. Hes right there. If hes away, i can count on my cellphone and even if the distance increases,i can feel his heart beating right next to mine

Hes taught me so many things in life..

Hes taught me that its okay to cry...He thought me that i should always stand up for what i believe is right and he taught me that i should never be afraid of authority...or if possible i should get into a position of authority myself.

He taught me how to play fair and that even if the opponent or even a team member is cheating,i must try correcting them but never should i stop playing fair..

His arms are the world's strongest. Their hugs can heal anything...Right from a fight with mommy to a broken heart and he never asks me why i need them. He just always gives them to me.

Even if im lying on my bed alone. Depressed about my life or something....I swear to god, even if hes not in town i feel him talking to me and when i close my eyes, I can swear i feel him hugging me.

He wears deo so strong it could knock a skunk out...LOL sorry dad...HAD to mention that! Its not his fault...or so he says.

When im sick the first words i say are "I want my papa" And no matter how far away he is, he manages to contact me.

Hes way better than mom wen im sick...He stays up with me,giving me my medicines...telling me stories, even if i've heard them time and time again i never get tired of them

Our trips to the beach are something else...I used to be very afraid of water...but hes taught me to conquer my fears. We hold hands and walk together in the ocean as deep as we dare and if the tide gets too strong,we rush back laughing. Or we just sit...close our eyes and listen to the sounds of the tide..Daddy taught me that the ocean talks to us but we need to listen carefully

And hes right.

Daddy i love you. We've both become more busy but i always need and feel you here by my side. Your hugs make me feel like everything's okay and your kisses tell me never to quit and that i should always keep trying and that with hard work and patience, we can get whatever we want in life.

I love you papa.

Forever and for always.

The mystery of the missing sock!!

Ok this is a very recent incident that happened. Infact it happened just 2 weeks ago. Ok Monday morning I’m ready for school and infact I’m ready to almost ready to leave the house when I start looking and look and look and look and look and look and look for that one elusive sock that I see around whenever I don’t need but miraculously disappears whenever I need it.

I know what you must be thinking the “mystery of the missing sock”??? But it’s the only mystery I face almost everyday so I thought it might make an “interesting” read. Or rather a funny one.

Anyway getting back to our “mystery”. I go to this huge bag where we stash the family sock supply. *Bends over and scrounges through the bag *. “That’s funny I could’ve sworn I saw a pair of socks while looking for my other pair on Friday. Hmmmmm…” My sister walks in. I ask her “have you seen a pair of clean socks I could use????” “I think I saw a pair under your bed while looking for a book of mine.” I go there and look for it under the bed. Its not there. Then I look at my watch. “Uh-oh it’s getting late”. I decide to wear a pair of sandals and I rush out of the house.

Then after I get home I decide to solve the “MYSTERY OF THE MISSING SOCK! I didn’t have anything else to do that day anyway so I get home and start in my room I look at the floor and realize that I can’t see my floor. There’s stuff everywhere. I walk in and trip and take a header on the nose.

Oh believe me you no idea how much that hurts. So I get up and walk through the mess. And bend down and look under the bed. Amazingly I don’t know how it could’ve escaped my eye in the morning but there is the other sock sitting innocently under the bed in the exact middle…. where anyone who bends down and looks can see it! *Sighs*.

I bend down and pick it up and toss it on top of my bed. I walk over to my closet and open it next. * Yanks the door open *. Uh-oh. A huge rumble is heard as a huge pile of clothes tumbles down and buries me. I lay still for a second. And then I get up. “Wow I had no idea my closet was this messy”,

I say to myself. Then AHA!!! There it is lying on the top of the huge clothes mountain is another sock!! “VICTORY IS MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”, I scream at the top of my voice and start dancing only to trip over a pile of books and fall again. Then I get up rub my elbow coz it got kinda well…. crunched. I walk to my bed and sit for 10 minutes. Then I decide to get up and go out. I step down from my bed and walk to the door.

I bend down near my bed to get my wristband and after I straighten up and walk near the door. I suddenly slip and fall…………AGAIN. Man I’m really clumsy… so glance down to see what I slipped on and it happens to be my favorite t-shirt, which I was looking for for quite a long time…Hmmmmm…maybe its time for my annual room cleanup....

I hope

Well nobody ever reads my blog so might as well as take my feelings out on someone. This is a poem i wrote for someone really really special...shes very close to my heart and i seriously miss her. The poem's called "I hope" and it goes a lil something like this

I hope you're happy with your new found life
remember me?
and the crazy lil things we did?

Well its okay
if you dont
cuz all i wanna say
is i hope you're happy
i hope you stay happy

I hope things get better for you
i sincerely hope they do
i hope you finally start doing
all the things you've loved doing

Like the crazy things we talked about
that even included scuba diving
in the faraway caribbean isles

I hope you get to go on a romantic cruise
with your special someone
i hope you have the most beautiful children
even prettier than you considered me to be

I hope you're always surrounded by happiness
i hope backstabbers will keep away from you
or even better still, you'll protect yourself from them
Like how you taught me to be strong
and how to stand on my own two feet

Like that one time
when you held me so close
and told me that i was the single most important person in your life

I hope you never forget anybody else
as fast as you did me
I hope you cling on to old memories
like how i foolishly still do

I hope you never have to close your eyes to pray to god
to ask him to help you find something thats missing
or give you back
someone you've lost

I hope you have to feel in your life
as little as possible
I hope you wake up in the morning
looking forward to a new day

i hope you never have to wake up
being able to barely walk
or smile

I hope you have the courage
to throw your arms around someone you love
not caring for what others around you think of the 2 of you

I hope at a crossroad,
you'll always know the path your going on is right
i hope you know that your heart's very hard
maybe cuz its made of solid gold

I hope you find a person so important
you'd jump infront of a car to save them
or sacrifice something you love for them

I hope you're never alone
and that you're always surrounded by genuine friends.

Unlike me

Chennai

Hmm...well...i cant say its perfect, its far from that, but you have to admit, chennai is awesome. You can feel things here that you can't possibly even if you go to the other end of the world. Cruising through the streets on a rickety old bike, watch out for the pits! The sweet alluring smell when you pass roadside stalls. Steaming hot vadas dunked in spicy sambhar as you're cramped into a table at the far end of a hotel. How sometimes(strangely) the idlies in certain hotesl vary so much that they could either be petal soft or can be used as a knockout weapon against the person who sits next to you yapping away on his/her cellphone. Whcih brings me to another really strange aspect of chennai-Everyone's got a cellphone. The guy who sells you tea in the trademark cinema style cups, the lady who goes door to door selling flowers or even the lady at the end of the street who has a blanket spread out and bananas of different sizes..All of them, including my little niece Maya owns phones.I guess thats a sign of development?

And going around in an auto is another outta the world experience. Everything, starting from the heated debate about how much you pay him, to the dusty breeze that messes up your so labouriously styled tresses and you end up getting out of the auto looking like you've been lifted off your feet by a tornado.

First stop...Adyar bakery. Uh no you're not actually going to enter the bakery, its the side stall that you wanna go to. They sell the world's most delicious cutlets and steaming hot punjabi samosas. And it ain't a fancy restaurant. You gotta grab your order, put it on a magazine page artfully wrapped up like a fancy fragrant christmas present and (if you're hungry) rip it open and start eating. I don't know about the tourists or anyone who would happen to be visiting but my theory is that all the chennai-ites are immune to any kind of sickness that might accompany it.

Next stop, Krishna sweets. They sell basically the best south indian food ever. You also get the strangest but somehow tempting variety of sweets there. The sweets...ah now they're something out of this world. They start with a strange variety of colours-green pink, white etc. but pop one in and you'll know pure ecstasy,i have no idea how they do it each and every time.Squeeze into one of the tables nearby and the humid air that hangs about the place usually doesnt get in a person's way of enjoying the food much but still.

Oh by the way you may not wanna check out the pro bikers showroom nearby, bajaj bikes only(bleh)

And to sit on the beach, feasting on a plastic packet of sundal(tomatoes, chopped onions, green chillies and groundnuts) with the strong breeze [again] messing up you're intricately chopped/styled locks, with your best friend cracking jokes is an experience outta this world!

Next stop, odyssey adyar, as you walk in,you get hit by a blast of cold air which is something welcoming if you've stepped out of the heat. You can choose to either find a corner and sit reading a book, go up the stairs, sit by the DVD section and bob you're head to the music on the listening area complete with a view of the entire road or you can choose to head back near the entrance and listen to the worldspace satellite radio there, you can choose your channel or you can get gaming with the Xbox 360 gaming controller and 35 inch lcd monitor right near the iPods and mp3 players. Beware-after about 10 minutes of messing up on the Xbox (cuz of the stupid highly sensitive controller) get ready to get a lot of tips from the sales people nearby on drifting, racing or even keeping the car crash-free.

(Now really,i'd throw in a note about city centre, spencer's plaza, landmark etc but they're everywhere and theres not much special about them)

Faithless-part 2

IF YOU HAVENT READ PART 1 PLZ SCROLL DOWN AND RAD IT BEFORE READING PART 2

He stood there in silence
Confused and hollow inside
Carved on a tombstone
R.I.P

His messy black hair fell forward drenched in rain and tears
his knees could hardly hold him up
It seemed too good to be true
and it was

The whispered sweet nothings
the comfortable silences
the tickle rockets.
All lost to memories that were to fade

2 days ago they were walking together
hand-in-hand smiling
it seemed so silly back then
that he'd once considered leaving everything
The 2 of them as happy as they could've been

If it weren't for the drunken driver that swerved
hitting her as she collapsed on the road
She was rushed to the hospital
but the lines on the machine went straight

She had passed

He felt the hollowness beneath his heart
as he kneeled down sobbing
resting his head on the tombstone.
He could nearly smell her sweet mysterious perfume
"And she never told me what was in it"
He thoght to himself remembering all the times
he'd tried to catch a glimpse of the enigmatic
scent that he loved so much

He sighed heavily and settled down on the grass
the rain pelted down harder
he could almost hear her sweet laugh ringing in his ears
He gazed up at the sky
wondering what he'd done
or why they had such little time together
when there was still so much left that he didnt do

He sobbed harder trying to run away from reality
he could almost hear her call out his name
almost feel her slender fingers slip thru his
Her giggles at his jokes.

All their arguments
all the times they gazed at each other and burst out laughing for no reason
just because they could
and they did

He closed his eyes trying to feel something
Blank.
He opened his eyes and gets up
trudging through the rain again
all alone for good this time.
